What might indicate someone needs a transmission repair?

One major sign that could indicate a transmission repair is needed is difficulty shifting gears or hesitation when accelerating. Leaking transmission fluid could be another warning sign. The fluid is essential to lubricate all the moving parts in a transmission, and without it, the transmission will eventually fail. Another possible indicator of a transmission problem is strange noises coming from the engine. For instance, if you hear whining or clunking sounds while driving, it could be caused by a malfunction in the transmission. Also, if the car is slipping out of gear unintentionally or even causing the car to roll when it should be in park, it’s likely an issue with the transmission.

How often do you recommend getting your transmission serviced?

It is recommended that you have your transmission regularly serviced and inspected to maintain optimal performance and longevity. Generally, it is best to have your transmission inspected and serviced every 30,000 miles or every two years whichever comes first. This is especially true if the vehicle is used in stop and go traffic, towed a trailer, or driven in extreme temperatures. Additionally, if you notice any unusual behavior with your transmission like delayed shifting, slipping gears, or increased noise, it may be time to have it serviced.
